Tempeh Buffalo Nuggets
This recipe is perfect for the weekend, great as a snack and can be used in wraps and on sandwiches. The key is cutting nice cubes of Henry's Tempeh and then seasoning with a maple buffalo sauce.
Ingredients
Ingredients
- 1 brick of Henry's Tempeh
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1/2 cup plant-based milk
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1/4 cup buffalo or other hot sauce
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
- Enough vegetable oil to fill an inch in your pot
Instructions
- Cube tempeh brick.
- Combine flour, spices and a pinch of salt in a bowl.
- Add milk and stir to combine.
- In a larger bowl add maple and hot sauce - stir.
- Heat oil in a pot over medium high and toss tempeh in the flour mixture to coat.
- To test oil, place the back of a wooden spoon in the oil and if it sizzles right away you are good to go!
- Fry tempeh in batches until golden brown and carefully spoon onto a paper towel lined plate.
- Once they are all fried add them to the bowl of hot sauce and maple and toss to coat. Serve with vegan ranch or throw them in a wrap!
