Sloppy Henry: A Sloppy Joe With a Twist

  • 1 package of Henry's Tempeh Seasoned Crumble
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 medium onion finely diced
  • 4-6 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tbsp mustard
  • 1 tbsp vegan Worcestershire sauce or tamari optional
  • ½ cup ketchup
  • ½ cup water
  • 2-4 pickles sliced thin
  • 4 buns toasted

Method
 

  1. In a large pan, heat the olive oil over medium low. Add the onions, garlic, salt and pepper. Cook for 5 minutes, until soft.
  2. Add the tomato paste and stir to combine. Add the Henry's Tempeh and cook for 2-4 minutes.
  3. Add the mustard, vegan Worcestershire, ketchup and water. Mix to combine. Taste and adjust the seasoning. Cook through until the water is absorbed and the mixture starts to thicken.
  4. Toast your buns and pile the Sloppy Henrys high! Top with pickles and dig in!
