Henry’s Hamburger Helper
Comfort food, but make it plant-based! Try our Henry's Hamburger Helper with tempeh crumble - a hearty, flavourful meal that's perfect for any night of the week.
Ingredients
- 1 tsp olive oil
- 1 package of Henry’s tempeh crumble
- 1 onion diced
- 3 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp chili powder
- 2 cups uncooked elbow macaroni rotini or spirals
- 3 cups mushroom broth
- 1 cup shredded vegan cheese
- Chives for garnish
Instructions
- In a large pan, add olive oil, tempeh and onions. Cook over medium heat for about 5 minutes.
- Add a pinch of salt, tomato paste, garlic powder, chili powder and mix to combine.
- Add the broth to the pan and bring to a boil. Add the pasta and lower the heat to a steady simmer. Cook, uncovered, until the pasta is fully cooked according to the package instructions and the liquid is starting to thicken. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking on the bottom of the pan.
- Stir in the cheese and cook for another 2 minutes.
- Serve hot and top with chives!
