We are very excited here at Henry’s Tempeh to present you with the first in a series of recipes from Cécile’s Untamed Kitchen!   French-inspired, vegetarian and vegan cuisine, you will be treated to many recipes in the coming months featuring our tempeh matched with Cécile’s amazing talents in the Untamed Kitchen!  First up is Mustard Tempeh:

1 package of Henry’s Soy Original (250 g)
Cut it in 32 small pieces (or any size you wish)

Pre-heat oven at 380ºF/190ºC

1/4 cup olive oil
1/4 cup cider vinegar
1/4 cup water or apple juice/cider
2 tbsp Dijon mustard
2 tbsp tamari
freshly ground pepper
1 tsp liquid smoke (optional)
or 1 tbsp horseradish (optional)

Mix all the ingredients together and pour over the tempeh.
Let it sit for 30 minutes.
Drain the excess marinade and reserve.
Bake for about 20 minutes turning the pieces around half way to get an even baking (I don’t usually bother). Bake longer for a crispier version.
Or fry in a pan using avocado oil (high heating point).
For a sauce, warm up the extra marinade and pour over your tempeh!
